Pavakka Theeyal recipe

| Ingredients: |
| Bitter gourd [‘Pavakka’] | 250 gm |
| Grated coconut | 1 |
| Chilly powder | 1 tbsp |
| Coriander | ˝ tbsp |
| Turmeric | ˝ tsp |
| Salt | required |
| Cocum [ Kodampuli] | 2 flakes |
| Tamarind [soluted] | 1 tsp |
| Mustard | one pinch |
| Curry leaves | 1 sprig |

| Preparation Method: |
- Simmer the bitter gourd [‘Pavakka’ slices] adding turmeric powder, salt and cocum [‘kodampuli flakes]
- In ˝ cup water. keep aside. Heat the oil in a pan and sauté the grated coconut, small onion slices
- When it becomes brown add chilly, turmeric and coriander powder
- Stir it till it also becomes brown
- Mix the simmered Bitter gourd[ ‘pavakka’]
- Heat the oil in a pan and split the mustard and sauté the curry leaves which also add to the ‘ Theeyal’
:- Serve with rice/ rotis.
